Smartboard Installed!!!

Today I was given the first session of my training on my brand new Smart Board! It was amazing! The trainer was a parent of a child I had in Fifth Grade, who is now a Junior in HIGH SCHOOL!!! Wow, I'm getting old!
If you ever want a demonstration, or just want to play, let me know and I can show you the basics of Smart Board Technology! I've been given a great opportunity, being one of four in my school to receive this new technology! Our applications were voted on during the Spring Retreat! My application was a WINNER!! I always tell my students how important it is to be a decent writer. This proves that point!

Harry Potter Summer!

This is the summer of Harry Potter! Our family went to see The Order of the Phoenix at the theater. Jackie and I went to the Books a Million Party and were the FIRST in line to get the Deathly Hallows (which I finished today)! Two thumbs up on both the movie and the book!

It has been such a great experience to be able to spend two weeks together, traveling and just being together. You really get to know each other in a 17 foot camping trailer! The kids both said this has been the best summer vacation EVER. We were given this awesome opportunity at an excellent time. The kids are in between activities (sporting and other-wise). Angel was able to take off two weeks. Of course, the best thing about teaching is June, July, and August (at least that is what they tell me). Although I have been meeting my class at the library every other week and I have planned an overnight trip to the Atlanta Zoo for my class that I am looping up with to third grade. Learning doesn't stop for the summer!

This was a very exciting moment during our trip! We were driving along side Brad Paisley's caravan! He was traveling on a huge bus and was followed by a truck plastered with pictures of him and info. about his tour. How cool is THAT!!

Grand Canyon

This was my favorite part of the trip. We had a wonderful time walking the southern rim of the Canyon. The view was spectacular! It is a sight to remember. If you have never been, I suggest you make plans to visit!
